We Understand Your Challenges
High Energy Costs & Unreliable Furnaces Cost You Every Day

💸 Electricity Is Your Biggest Cost

At $0.08–0.15/kWh, an older furnace running 580–650 kWh per ton of steel adds up fast. IGBT technology brings this down to 480–560 kWh — saving tens of thousands annually at high production volumes.

🔴 Unplanned Downtime Is Devastating

A furnace failure mid-shift can mean hours of lost production, rushed repairs, and delayed deliveries. Customers need a furnace with comprehensive protection circuits that prevent failures before they happen.

🔌 Poor Power Factor Penalties

Older SCR-based systems drag power factor down to 0.75–0.85, triggering reactive power charges from your utility. IGBT technology achieves 0.95+ power factor, eliminating these extra costs entirely.

🔧 Slow Repairs & Unavailable Spares

Generic components are difficult to source. YuRun builds exclusively with Infineon and Fuji IGBT modules — globally available from authorized distributors — so repairs take hours, not weeks.

IGBT Induction Melting Furnace

The YuRun IGBT Induction Melting Furnace is a complete melting system combining a heavy-duty furnace body, IGBT medium frequency power supply, closed-loop water cooling system, and PLC control panel — all engineered to work together as one integrated unit. Available from 0.5 tons to 30 tons capacity for iron, steel, copper, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals.

The core advantage of IGBT technology is efficiency. Where older SCR systems waste energy through poor power factor and slower frequency tracking, IGBT inverters maintain 95%+ conversion efficiency and automatically track the resonant frequency as metal transitions from solid to liquid. This means consistent, maximum power delivery at every stage of the melt — and a measurable reduction in kWh per ton of metal produced.

Built to Reduce Your Cost Per Ton

10–20% Lower Electricity Per Ton

IGBT inverters achieve ≥95% conversion efficiency versus 85–88% for SCR systems. In real production, this means 480–560 kWh/ton for steel — a direct, measurable reduction in your electricity bill from day one.

🎛️

Automatic Frequency Tracking

As metal melts and load impedance changes, the IGBT inverter automatically adjusts operating frequency (100–2500Hz) to stay at resonance — maintaining maximum power transfer from cold charge to pouring temperature without any operator adjustment.

🛡️

Complete Protection Suite

Overcurrent, overvoltage, under-voltage, overtemperature, water-flow loss, phase-loss, and short-circuit protection — all built into the IGBT gate driver circuits. Response time in microseconds, before damage can occur.

💧

Integrated Closed-Loop Cooling

Every YuRun IGBT furnace system includes or is compatible with our closed-loop cooling system. Treated soft water, per-circuit flow sensors, automatic temperature control, and furnace interlock — protecting your IGBT modules and coil investment.

📊

Siemens PLC with Data Logging

Siemens S7 PLC records every melt cycle: power, temperature, duration, energy consumed, and fault events. Export production data via USB for ERP integration, yield analysis, or remote diagnosis by YuRun engineers via TeamViewer.

🔩

Heavy-Duty Furnace Body & Hydraulic Tilt

Furnace body constructed from heavy-gauge steel with precision-wound induction coil and high-density refractory lining. Hydraulic tilting mechanism provides smooth, controlled pouring at any angle — standard on all models 1T and above.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much energy does an IGBT furnace save vs SCR?
In typical steel melting, an IGBT furnace uses 480–560 kWh per ton versus 580–650 kWh for SCR systems — a saving of roughly 100 kWh per ton. At $0.10/kWh and 500 tons/month production, that's $5,000/month in electricity savings. The exact savings depend on your metal type, charge mix, and operating hours.
What is included in the furnace system package?
A complete YuRun IGBT melting furnace system includes: (1) furnace body with induction coil and refractory lining, (2) IGBT medium frequency power supply cabinet, (3) capacitor compensation bank, (4) closed-loop cooling water system, (5) Siemens PLC control panel with 7" HMI, (6) hydraulic tilting system, and (7) all interconnecting cables and water pipes. Foundation drawings and installation manual are provided with every order.
How long does installation take?
For furnaces up to 3T, installation typically takes 3–5 days with our technician on-site. Larger furnaces (5T–30T) require 7–14 days depending on site preparation. We provide a YuRun commissioning engineer for all systems and remain on-site until the furnace completes its first successful production run.
Can I run different metals in the same furnace?
Yes, but it requires changing the furnace lining between metal types to prevent contamination. For operations that regularly switch between metals (e.g., iron and aluminum), we recommend having a dedicated spare furnace shell with a different lining. Swapping furnace shells takes approximately 2–4 hours with a trained crew.
What is the lead time for delivery?
Standard furnaces (0.5T–5T) are typically ready in 25–35 days after order confirmation and deposit. Larger systems (8T–30T) require 45–60 days. Delivery is by sea freight for international orders. We provide detailed installation drawings 2 weeks before delivery so your site preparation can be completed in parallel.
